Our unique approach

We believe generating long term relationships that go beyond stand alone projects that address the livelihoods of communities who live in areas with rich natural resources and wildlife.

By combining the expertise of professionals with the experience of the communities, we address poverty and the means to alleviate poverty by helping the communities compile and implement plans to reduce the poverty amongst their communities, we find funds for projects to support these plans and we educate the village leaders and provide them the means to monitor the performance of the projects.

HGF strives to ensure the conservation of this unique landscape and its wildlife, to promote global biodiversity and sustainable land use. The key is to provide communities, who are the custodians of the land and the natural resources within, with sustainable options for their livelihood by improving their economy, health and education.

“The survival of our wildlife is a matter of grave concern to all of us in Africa. These wild creatures amid the wild places they inhabit are not only important as a resource of wonder and inspiration but are an integral part of our natural resources and our future livelihood and well being…….In accepting the trusteeship of our wildlife we solemnly declare that we will do everything in our power to make sure that our children’s grand children will be able to enjoy this rich and precious inheritance”.
