The Honeyguide Foundation acts as an agency for the tourism industry to positively contribute to the livelihoods of local communities by providing tourism enterprises with community development investment opportunities. These investments help manage and sustain the natural resources of the region. We have a strong commitment to supporting and stimulating Responsible Tourism – a sustainable tourism development model – through the establishment of local tourism related business ventures. These businesses ventures improve local livelihoods by increasing community and individual revenue.
Furthermore, the Honeyguide Foundation firmly supports the idea that local community business ventures based on the Responsible Tourism model will create strong incentives in communities to respect and protect their natural resources and environment. The tourism industry will, it turn, benefit from communities safeguarding wildlife and natural resources as the landscape will be preserved.
