Seminar on the Friday 3rd June 2011 at the Kimemo Holdings at 3.30 pm to 5pm.

The seminar will provide presentations and a discussion forum on the development of an organization that will provide guidelines and accreditation for responsible tourism in Tanzania.

The meeting will be opened by Richard Rugimbana of the Tourism Confederation of Tanzania (TCT).

Talks will be presented as follows:

  1. Responsible Tourism Tanzania- an overview of a new organization that will provide guidelines and certification for responsible tourism in Tanzania
  2. Netherlands Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (ANVR) a presentation that will cover the trends and developments from the perspective of the European travel trade and the consumers. What’s is the relevance of becoming more sustainable and what are the benefits from a market perspective. ANVR have  approx 220 member tour operators and 1500 travel agencies in the Netherlands.

Following the presentations will be a general group discussion on the way forwards for the Responsible Tourism Tanzania, an opportunity to gather ideas and concerns form the industry.

RTTZ will also like to receive a statement of intent from tourism companies of an interest in responsible tourism and if you would like to become a member of this organization.
